House video finally available!

Thanks, Julie!! Here it is. Don't mind the unsteady hand of the obviously untrained videographer (me). Spread the word far and wide!! :-) Just remember, the Spotted Boy Wonder does NOT come with the house.

Pictures of the ponies

Thanks, Julie, for sending me some pics of my little buggers to keep me going until I can bring them here. Zeplin and Jazzy, the mustang-wannabes of Western Iowa!
Zeplin is quite the romancer of the ladies. He has all of Julie's mares wrapped around his hoof, apparently. With a face like this, how can they resist?
He even suckered Julie into scratching his favorite itchy spot for him, right on his fluffy Arab butt:
I'm planning a trip to come get my stuff, but there are certain problems I need to address. More on everything later (as always) :-)

Goat on the Roof!!!

Thanks, Julie, for sending today's amusing shots! Molly is such an adorable goat. Julie thinks she goes on the roof to look for me. I think she wants to see her old buddy Quimby. However, she's been making do with Julie's wonderful Tyler and beautiful new Doberman pup, Riddick:

Am I in Texas?

This here is Longhorn country!!!
This lovely red heifer (top) and the wild colored heifer calf and black and white bull calf belong to a friend of Jane's. I'm sure I'll be seeing more of these little guys!

New friends and adventures

This summer has been absolutely miserable for riding (although I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone that!). Either it's pouring rain or the combination of heat and humidity drive us sweating and dripping back into the air conditioning within just a few minutes of being outside.

Poor Quimby has been very tolerant of staying in an apartment for now, instead of outside and free all day. She doesn't get a lot of walking right now, because I can't tolerate the unbearable weather for long stretches at a time. This morning, my air conditioning unit gave out. I can't wait until my house sells and I can find a house here so that I'm not feeling so caged. I think I've gained quite a bit of weight, I'm just afraid to step on the scale!

I've made a wonderful new friend named Jane. Jane lives not far from my apartment (less than a mile by distance, but I have to go a little out of the way to cross the river). Jane has three extremely well kept and very lovely horses. Destie is a 6 year old Tennessee Walker gelding. He reminds me quite a bit of my own (very much missed) Zeplin.
Then there is Czar, the 26 year old Arabian stallion (very cute little guy):
Here he is, waiting for his lady, the extremely lovely and sweet 12 year old Arab mare, Duchess:
I have to apologize for the poor quality of the second pic. My old camera died, so I've been using the limited capabilities of my new work camera phone. I didn't take the third picture with it, Jane sent me that one!

I still have so many stories to tell, just from this year. Bear with me, I'm not done yet!

I swear I'm alive!

I know I've been MIA for most of May and all of June. I'm still transitioning to my new life here in Indiana. I started the new job back on May 24th. For awhile, I was hunting frantically for a place that would allow my dog without having to sign a long term lease. I was living out of a hotel during the week and hanging out with my sister Sarah's family on weekends.

I have an apartment now with a lease through September. Still working on selling my house... My ponies and goat are enjoying Julie's gracious hospitality in Iowa. My motorcycle (the Drama Queen) is at the mechanic's house in Nebraska. My cats are chilling in Sarah's laundry room. Most of my furniture (what there is of it) is still in the house for "staging" purposes. Most of my personal effects are in storage in Iowa until my house sells. I feel spread out all over!

At least I have Quimby with me again, as I work to close this messy stage of moving. And I met a horse lady and got to RIDE today!! More on that later, but things are looking up :-)
